the team

Hey! Glad you stopped by! Here’s a quick snippet about me! It won’t take long before you’ll find that I’m all about a whole lot of Jesus and a little bit of coffee. OK, well maybe lots more coffee than I care to admit! Outside of my faith, family is everything. There is no greater feeling than to be a husband and a daddy.
Over the years I’ve been blessed to serve in many positions on church staffs. In the secular world, I’ve seen much! I’ve sat in the chair of the CEO/Management types, designed PR campaigns for people you wouldn’t believe even if I told you, and I’ve flipped burgers and tossed pizzas with the best of them. At one point, I was even an on-air radio personality. No kidding!
Personally, I’ve been blessed to do and accomplish so many things it’s not even funny! I’ve traveled to countless places…met many famous faces…graduated seminary, finally..with a Doctorate in Theology…have a Black Belt in karate…a CCW License…and have my first book that one day I hope to publish. And that’s just scratching the surface.
OK, enough about me! I want to know more about you! Join us at any of our weekly services or call or come by the church office and visit with me. If we can help you in any way, please contact our office! I would love the opportunity to serve as your Pastor. Enjoy your time here, tell your friends about it, then come see us here at CornerstoneWM!

Hey y’all! I have been a member here at Cornerstone WM since 2001. In March of 2015, I joined the CSWM team. I also serve as the church photographer and fill in when needed to run the sound booth on Sundays.
I am actively involved with our Student Ministry. On Wednesday nights, I can be found worshiping with  students.
I am a graduate of Arkansas State University (Go Red Wolves!!!) with a degree in Fine Arts/Photography and minor in Graphic Design, which is why you’ll see me around church often  with a camera in my hand.
If you have any questions, you may contact me by calling the church office or by email:

Cornerstone WM is a Southern Baptist Church and  we are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and the Tri-County Baptist Association of churches.
Having these affiliations does not mean Cornerstone WM is controlled by these agencies. Cornerstone is a fully autonomous church led by Christ with full decision- making power vested in the church’s membership. Cornerstone affiliates itself with other churches of like doctrine and practice to share ministry tasks and encourage sister churches in the work of the ministry. Through the cooperative program of the Southern Baptist Convention, Cornerstone helps send over 5000 missionaries throughout the world, support Baptist colleges and seminaries, and meet the needs of millions of people in the United States and the world.
We are also involved in supporting the work of local missions such as Calvary Rescue Mission, Hope House Ministry, Truck Stop Ministry, Jail Ministry, & others. Through our affiliations, we have become a stronger and more effective church in the work of God’s kingdom.

one God
eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
our Lord Jesus Christ
God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His Personal return in power and glory
the Salvation
of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit
the Holy Spirit
by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ
the Unity

our history

In May 1954, a small group of people met under a pecan tree in the yard of Mr. Harold Raines. On June 20, 1954, Tenth Street Baptist Church was organized with 41 charter members. They met in the home of Rev. Aron A. McKay, the church’s first pastor. July of 1954, the name was changed to Faith Baptist Church; in November, property was purchased by the church on South 11th Street. A building program was started and the members moved into their new building in March, 1955. Once again, in 1958, the church changed its name to Second Baptist Church. In early 1970, the church purchased property at the corner of East Barton & West McAuley, and entered a bond program to pay for the construction of a church building on the new property. The first building phase was completed by October. Four years later, new classrooms and a fellowship hall were added to the property. At this location, the church continued to grow; once again they found it necessary to find land to build a building large enough to for the growing membership.

In early 1997, Second Baptist Church was approached by a sister church, Richland Baptist, about the possibility of a merger of the two churches. This took place in May 1997. The name was once again changed to Cornerstone Baptist Church. The two congregations entered a building program to erect the present 2 story multi-purpose facility which consists of a worship center, kitchen, choir suite, and 21 classrooms. The building was built on the property owned by Richland Baptist. The old Richland building was converted into a fellowship hall, kitchen, 4 classrooms, & 3 storage rooms. All of this was finished and moved into in March 1999. In October 2016, our church began renovations of a portion of our former Richland Building into a Student Center for our growing Student Ministry.

Our worship center is located on the corner of Balfour and Clement in West Memphis. We invite you to join us for worship Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday nights and see the exciting new things happening at Cornerstone WM.
